Weezer’s Got a New Raditude
The track list for Weezer’s new album, Raditude, has just been released on the band’s official website and, judging by the song titles alone, Weezer plans to live up to their flying dog album art and keep it pleasantly spunky and a little bit outside the lines. A comparison made by Rolling Stone links the new Weezer album to artists such as 30H!3 and Cobra Starship and their humorous song topics. Hopefully, Weezer won’t get caught up in this new pop-punk-head-bopping music that seems to be so popular at the moment, and will stick to what they know best.
Song titles like “(If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To” and “Let It All Hang Out” have me thinking that Weezer might be headed more mainstream than I’d like to see. However, you can only tell so much by a song title.
The LP Raditude is due out October 27th and is sure to be a popular snag. As with the previous Weezer album, Raditude will be available in both standard and deluxe addition. If this album is constructed anything like the last, we recommend you pick up the deluxe addition for the extra tracks—they could be some of the better listens on the album.
