Thom and Flea, sittin' in a tree....
On October 4th and 5th, local Los Angeles band Lucky Dragons have an opening slot at The Orpheum Theatre for some band playing its first shows together.
The band? Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, Beck/R.E.M. drummer Joey Waronker, percussionist/multi-instrumentalist Mauro Refosco, and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea.
Yorke posted on Radiohead's "Dead Air Space" blog (in his typical all lowercase letter-dom)..."in the past couple of weeks i've been getting a band together for fun to play the eraser stuff live and the new songs etc.. to see if it could work!"
Despite a generally lukewarm critical reception to Yorke's Eraser album, he(and Godrich for that matter) has been riding pretty good hot streak for about a decade, so here's betting it'll work.
Wonder if Flea will teach him that tube sock trick...
