Amy Winehouse Signs Goddaughter to Lioness Records
Amy Winehouse hopes to thrust her 13-year old goddaughter into the spotlight on her own record label. Lioness Records will release Dionne Bromfield’s first album next month.
Winehouse achieved international fame with her song “Rehab” and has since publically dealt with drug and alcohol abuse. However, it seems the singer has found a new muse in her goddaughter.
“The first time I heard Dionne sing, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, such an amazing voice from such a young girl,” Winehouse told The Sun. “She’s so much better than I was at her age. I’m just so proud of her.”
Dionne takes on staples such as “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”, and “My Boy Lollipop” in her debut album, Introducing Dionne Bloomfield. And, you can hear Amy’s distinct voice in the background on the album’s first single, “Mama Said.”
Maybe this new project will aid in recovering Winehouse’s calamitous public image. I actually love Winehouse and believe she’s a really talented singer-off the cocaine.
