Madonna’s Second Single “Revolver” Disappoints
The second single track from Madonna’s soon-to-be released Celebration greatest hits album leaves much to be desired. A new, high quality version of “Revolver” has recently surfaced on YouTube only a week or so before the set Celebration release on September 29th. The new version may sound clearer, but high quality sound doesn’t equal high quality songwriting.
Unfortunately, it seems Madonna may have lost her creativity and uniqueness when it comes to “Revolver.” The tune doesn’t embody the epic nature of a Madonna song. The collaboration with Lil Wayne on this song was an interesting choice and didn’t add to the new track. Her first single “Celebration” wasn’t my favorite, but “Revolver” isn’t even worth and iTunes download.
I guess we’ll have to wait until the video comes out. A little bit of Lordes emulating her mother, and Jesus “spinning” tables, is just what this new single needs.
What do you think? Have a listen here.
