The Epic Mic Night hosted by Athens BLUR Magazine and Rye Bar. (Rye Bar is located at 140 East Clayton Street—below Helix, across from Transmetropolitan). Come lend a hand by cheering on your favorite act and hope your “woops” or “yays”—no “boos” allowed this ain’t American Idol folks—will be heard by the judges panel and influence their final decision. You can’t play a show without an audience. Support the underground music scene and maybe you’ll witness the next big breakout artist.

After catching a few of Athens musical talents, head over to Little Kings Shuffle Club to see Tom Goss—characterized for his politically progressive views that center around equality rights—and Mara Levi—who touches on politics but really lays into the more trivial issue of celebrity stalking. These two guarantee a good line-up of pop-punk-folk inspired music on both a serious and comical level.
