Yeah Yeah Yeahs on iTunes Originals

Photobucket

Karen O's keeping busy this fall.  First she and a host of collaborators released the soundtrack for the much talked about "Where the Wild Things Are" movie.  Now O and her band the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have become the latest group to be featured on the iTunes Originals series.  The series is a set of digital recordings that include studio versions of some of the band's songs as well as interviews and acoustic tracks.

The YYY set, released yesterday on iTunes, has 21 tracks — nine of which are interviews with members the indie rock trio's members.  Frontwoman Karen O, guitarist Nick Zinner and drummer Brian Chase discuss the group's nine year history and the stories behind some if its songs.  Also included are acoustic versions of "Hysteric" and "Runaway" from 2009's It's Blitz! and a string-laden version of the band's hit "Maps" from the 2003 album Fever to Tell. The collection is rounded out with studio versions of songs from all three of the YYY's albums.

You can get the whole set for $9.99, or you can also pick and choose which tracks you want to buy, excluding the interviews which are only available as part of the collection.  The Yeah Yeah Yeahs iTunes Originals set it only available from — you guessed it — iTunes.
