Thunder Jam TOMORROW: We’ll Bring The Thunder, If You Bring The Lightning

Listen to good music, in a wide open field, with your own ice cold beer…what could constitute a better night? Oh, and you can camp out, too. Thunder Jam is going down this Saturday, October 17th just down the road from Athens in Winterville, GA (see directions below). Thunder Jam in like a miniature, intimate Bonnaroo—minus trudging through 2 feet of mud of course.

The field opens Saturday at 4:00pm. The main stage will run from 5:00-10:00 with a late night acoustic jam session beginning at 11:00. If you play an instrument, bring it and join in. Otherwise, a good appreciative ear is just as welcome. $10 entry fee benefits Nuçi’s Space and the night’s performers.

As mid-October approaches, so do the chilly nights. Make sure to bring appropriate clothing. Also, this isn’t any night in downtown Athens, be comfortable and don’t bother with trendy foot attire—grass fields aren’t kind to open-toed shoes. Viking attire is suggested, but not required. However, you may feel at home in a horned hat when surrounding the blazing Viking bonfire.

This is a BYOB (bring your own booze) event. NO GLASS BOTTLES, please. Bring as much as you’d like and remember camping onsite is the best solution to a full case of beer in the middle of nowhere. Pitch a tent in the field, no extra charge. And if you get hungry, Jot ‘Em Down BBQ will be on site to provide some good home cooking.

Thunder Jam t-shirts will be available on site (cash only) to commemorate this momentous night.
