The UK Times Gives Away Free R.E.M. Tunes

Want an R.E.M. album for free? So do I, but unfortunately, we’re not British.

On Saturday, October 10 The UK Times Magazine and The UK Times Newspaper will make an iTunes gift card available where users can log on and receive a full R.E.M. album absolutely free. What’s the catch, right?


According to reports, there isn’t one.

The code that is given on the back on the card will give cardholders access to timesonline.co.uk/rem where ten songs by the Athens veterans will be made available. Half of the songs will come from R.E.M.’s newest album, Live at the Olympia, while the other half will be from the band’s extensive back catalogue.

Along with the ten free songs from R.E.M., the following week, Monday, Oct. 12 through Saturday, Oct 17, six other free song downloads will be accessible.

Now all you have to do is fly overseas to get a Times Magazine or a Times Newspaper.
