Phish Posts Tour Dates; Still Knifing Album Covers For Festival 8
Hot on the heels of their reunion tour and Joy album release, Phish finds themselves back on the stage in another go round just weeks after their three night stint at Festival 8. After concluding the festival out west, the band will have merely two weeks of down time until they play their first tour city, Detroit, on November 18th.
Festival 8 will take an interesting twist on its 0ctober 31 show. Though Phish won’t show up in the trending Lady Gaga or vampire costume, they will celebrate the ghoulish holiday in their own way with “musical costuming” — the band will play another artist's album instead of their own tunes. The possible options range from Bruce Springsteen to MGMT and the entire list of potentials is available the band's website. Phish is literally — knife stuck in the blood-dripping corpse of the artist’s cover art — killing album covers as they narrow down the list. Which artist’s album do you want to see Phish cover?
The tour will hit the following cities:
Oct. 30 – Indio, CA @ Festival 8
Oct. 31 – Indio, CA @ Festival 8
Nov. 1 – Indio, CA @ Festival 8
Nov. 18 – Detroit, MI @ Cobo Arena
Nov. 20 – Cincinnati, OH @ U.S. Bank Arena
Nov. 21 – Cincinnati, OH @ U.S. Bank Arena
Nov. 22 – Syracuse, NY @ War Memorial
Nov. 24 – Philadelphia, PA @ Wachovia Center
Nov. 25 – Philadelphia, PA @ Wachovia Center
Nov. 27 – Albany, NY @ Times Union Center
Nov. 28 – Albany, NY @ Times Union Center
Nov. 29 – Portland, ME @ Cumberland County Civic Center
Dec. 2 – New York, NY @ Madison Square Garden
Dec. 3 – New York, NY @ Madison Square Garden
Dec. 4 – New York, NY @ Madison Square Garden

Note the lack of love shown to the South. Perhaps more dates will be added at a later date to satisfy the southern Phish phans, including Georgia.
