Cover songs. When they’re good, they’re so good (Jimi Hendrix-All Along the Watchtower). But when they’re bad, it’s almost criminal (Britney Spears- I Can’t Get No Satisfaction). John Mayer, love him or loathe him or pretend to loathe him while secretly loving him, does a damn good cover.
