As a result of a region plagued by piracy, Google Inc. has launched a music service that is available to subscribers in China. The service is free and revenue will be created through advertisement banners on the pages as music is downloading or streaming. The revenue will be shared by record lables (including the top 4 majors), who already are providing 350,000 songs and plan to have 1,000,000 by the end of the month, and top100.cm radio, the station provinding the music to listeners in China. Hopefully this will start a trend that will start a decline in piracy of music.
