Jackson's Mother Granted Child Custody

Photobucket

A Los Angeles superior court judge has given Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, temporary custody of the late pop singer’s three children; Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, 12; Paris Michael Katherin Jackson, 11; and Prince Michael II, 7.

The ruling was announced today (June 29) by Judge Mitchell Beckloff after Katherine appeared in court to ask permission to continue taking care of her three grandchildren.
Though she has only been granted temporary custody, the Associated Press has reported that a hearing has been scheduled for August 3, which will determine whether she can become the children’s permanent guardian.

Katherine also filed a petition to become the administrator of her grandchildren’s estates. The judge did not grant her request.
