Still no known cause to Ga Theater fire

As of Saturday afternoon, there is still no known cause of the Georgia Theater fire. Because the fire was so large and hot, the fire investigators have not been able to enter the building to investigate the cause. Kyle Hendrix, the Athens-Clarke Assistant Fire Chief told an AJC reporter on the scene that it could be "a couple more days" before it is safe enough to go into the building. "When any building experiences that much fire and that much heat, we always have a concern about the integrity of the structure," Hendrix said. He said the outer walls do not appear to be in danger of collapsing, but they have to wait for everything to cool before entering the building. No foul play is suspected, but fire investigators with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives will be able to analyze the debris and any evidence in a laboratory to determine how the fire started.
