O.A.R. Wants YOU to Write Its Next Song

Photobucket
Are you sick of tweeting the same old things every day? Well, good news people. O.A.R. is launching a twitter songwriting contest that will result in a new song being released exclusively on iTunes in October. Beginning today (June 9) through July 7, anyone on Twitter can submit their lyrics, 140 characters at a time to OAR's Twitter page. The band will then pick three winning verses, a chorus, and a bridge that will make up the lyrics of the first ever Twitter-made song. After that, the winning lyrics will be posted so that the fans can suggest potential song titles. Then comes the songwriting and recording process, which the boys of O.A.R. want to make as interactive as possible, posting video footage for fans to follow along and see the entire process through. Proceeds from the sale of the fan-made single will be donated to the band's Heard the World Fund, which provides resources for under-funded and educational and youth-oriented programs. So take advantage of this opportunity and start tweeting your creative lyrics out to O.A.R.
