Former Destiny's Child Reinvents Herself

Kelly Rowland, R&B artist, became famous through her involvement in former Destiny’s Child group and by her solo work. After collaborating with DJ David Guetta, Rowland has made a new song entitled "When Love Takes Over" but it is not R&B. She is now making dance music.

The song is the first single on DJ Guetta’s new album, One Love. The song is already a major hit and has encouraged Rowland to explore this new genre and give R&B a rest for a while.

Rowland told Billboard “I had spent nights dancing in the South of France from 12:45 a.m. to 8 in the morning, but I had never thought about recording a dance track myself. Hearing David's song made me consider taking on this whole new style.”

Rowland will be touring with DJ Guetta at various locations this summer as well as co-hosting Bravo’s new series The Fashion Show with fashion designer, Isaac Mizrahi. She will also be starting a new charity called I Heart My Girlfriend with the goal of creating a support system for teen girls.

Even though Rowland will now be exploring dance music she still does not want to stray “too far from [her] urban roots.
