See You in Five Years, Oasis
In an interview with Q magazine, Noel Gallagher relayed some terrible news to the world: Oasis will not be coming out with any new records within the next five years. Even though this is a huge letdown, Gallagher has also told fans the reason for the hiatus may be his solo career in the works.
“I’ve got a lot of songs lying around and some of them are really great,” says Gallagher. “But they’re not Oasis songs. They’re going to sit there and do nothing, so hopefully at the end of this tour I’m going to go and do something for myself.”
Gallagher commented before completing any album in the past the band would already begin to work on the next album. However, he expressed, “I haven’t this time. I don’t want to force it.” But according to Q magazine, last month Oasis had already come up with new material after completing Dig Out Your Soul. So which is it? This break appears to have been decided on suddenly.
Gallagher is optimistic about the break and thinks the other band members will be able to grow on their own. Since June fourth, the band has been touring the UK and will continue until the end of August. These may be the last concerts from Oasis before they put their music on pause.
