1960 - Testifying before a congressional committee investigating Payola, Dick Clark admits he had a financial interest in 27 percent of the records played on his show over a period of roughly 28 months.

1970 - Opening for the band T. Rex in London, Elton John makes his solo concert debut.

2003 - It is reported that Evel Knieval has signed over the exclusive rights for the upcoming "Evel Knievel: The Rock Opera."
