Your Kids Can Like Jammin' Too

Photobucket

Attention all reggae-loving, hipster parents. Ziggy Marley (eldest son of Bob Marley) has created two albums with your kids' ears in mind. The first, Family Time (how cute) is a collection of what Marley calls "family music." Tracks include some originals as well as covers of the Jamaican classic, "Hold Em Joe" and Woodie Guthrie's "This Train" along with two spoken-word pieces by actress Jamie Lee Curtis. Other contributors to the kid-friendly album are pretty impressive and include Paul Simon, Jack Johnson, Willie Nelson and a handful of the Marley clan including Marley's 3-year-old daughter, Judah, who is said to be his muse for the album, scheduled to drop May 5. Proceeds from Family Time will go to the Chepstowe Basic School in Port Antonio, Jamaica. Following Family Time will be the June release of a set of his father's songs, reworked and remastered with the kiddos in mind. The eight classic songs have "a very different vibe, but still real Bob," Marley told Billboard.com. Marley will join 311 this summer on tour and hopes to squeeze in some special children's and family shows. Sounds like a nice little family outing.
