Featured Artist of The Day: The Black Keys

Guitarist-vocalist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney comprise Akron, Ohio based band called The Black Keys. They have been steadily been gaining traction since they teamed up with producer Danger Mouse (Gnarlz Barkley, The Gorillaz, The Grey Album) to record Attack and Release in a hand-built recording studio that Auerbach said “smells like a moldy cabin” and “looks like a haunted house.” And it sounds like that in the best way possible: raw, unpolished and noisy, but still catchy as hell. They will be hitting the stage at All Points West in Jersey City, NJ this summer. Or, if the Windy City is calling your name, make sure to see Dan Auerbach solo at Lollapalooza. Auerbach’s album, Keep It Hid, was released in February of this year, and even though it’s been a bit on the DL, if you’re into the Keys, you will dig it: http://www.myspace.com/danauerbachmusic.
