Lil Wayne Pulls in $42 Milli

Photobucket

"Don't you compare me cause there ain't nobody near me," raps Lil Wayne in his monstrous hit "A Milli." How right you are, Weezy.

Lil Wayne is hip hop's top-grossing touring artist this year, with his tour pulling in a reported $42 million. Between December '08 and September '09, Lil Wayne played 78 dates, attracting nearly 800,000 fans across the country. Hundreds of thousands of people shelled out money to see Weezy do his thing — Not even hip hop vet Jay-Z or the ever humble Kanye West could top that. Jay-Z's 2008 tour earned $34.6 million, while West's "Glow In the Dark" tour in 2008 pulled in a measly $30.8. Better luck next year, Kanye.

All of Weezy's touring in the past year has been to support his 3 times platinum album Tha Carter III. He also won four Grammy awards, including hip hop album of the year, for Carter.

Looks like this young money millionaire isn't going anywhere for a while.
