Happy Birthday: Joan Jett Stays Young Through Kristen Stewart

Joan Jett turns 49 today and is actually sort of making a comeback. Popping back on the media scene after a long absence, Joan Jett has been a large part of creating her biopic “The Runaways,” and was photographed multiple times on the set this past summer. The movie, due out in 2010, tells the story of the band The Runaways that Jett helped form after running away from home at the age of 15.

The reason for Jett’s sudden popularity in the media, undoubtedly, has nothing to do with the anticipation of the movie but rather that Kristen Stewart is the starlet who plays Jett in the movie.
We all know Stewart is part of the Twilight franchise and therefore is one of the most photographed actors in today’s media—how else would the media analyze her emotions from being cross-country from rumored love interest, and "Twilight" costar, Robert Pattinson.

Despite Stewart’s fame, there are rumors that Jett was occasionally unsatisfied with her performance on the set of “The Runaways.” Though she rocked the jet-black mullet well, Stewart wasn’t capturing Jett’s character correctly according to her. On one occasion, Jett even drove Stewart to tears when criticizing the young actress' ability to correctly portray her.

That’s the rocker that we know. Go Jett! Don’t let Stewart ruin your one last moment in the limelight. You aren’t getting any younger, seeing you’re one year away from the big 5-0!
