Born to Rest: Bruce Springsteen Takes a Break

Photobucket

Since 2007, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have been touring left and right.  From the Springsteen and E Street Band Magic Tour, to promoting President Obama, to performing at this year’s Super Bowl, to headlining Bonnaroo, the guys seem to have no time for rest, until now.

Springsteen and his band have announced they will be taking a two-year break from touring once they wrap up their current line-up of shows this November.

Guitarist Steven Van Zandt of the E Street band told reporters:
“We are going to take a break. I don't know how long, one year, year-and-a-half, two years off. This is a good time to see us. We may not be as pretty, [but] we seem to be getting better in funny ways.”

As for when exactly the guys will be back on the touring circuit Zandt said, "You never know. This could be be the last tour. We do every show like it's our last show anyway."

  1. Well now I definitely feel validated in stretching the budget to get to the Chicago show where they are playing "Born to Run" in its entirety! But I'm also sort of relieved to learn that we will be able to direct those funds to seeing other bands for a few years. ;)
