Last.fm to Launch Terrestrial Stations

 Photobucket

The internet radio/scrobble site Last.fm announced that they will launch four terrestrial HD radio stations on October 5.

The Last.fm site plays music selected by users, while tracking their preferences and suggesting new artists that they may be interested in listening to.  The terrestrial stations will play users' favorite artists and songs.

Though maybe not as well known as Pandora and Rhapsody, Last.fm has a large following. The site was purchased by CBS, and now they've decided to take their cyberspace playlists to the streets, via their new HD radio stations.  For now, though, only a select few cities will get to enjoy Last.fm on the radio waves.

And here's a list of those lucky cities:

WWFS-FM (102.27 HD2) in New York
WXRT-FM (93.1 HD3) in Chicago
KCBS-FM (93.1 HD2) in Los Angeles
KITS-FM (105.3 HD3) in San Francisco
