KISS Finally Gains Hall of Fame Nomination

Photobucket
At last, after being eligible for 10 years, KISS is seeing the recognition so many of their fans and followers know they deserve. After being snubbed for a decade, KISS’ name is finally on the nominee list released this morning by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. KISS isn’t the only newbie to grace the list—Red Hot Chili Peppers, Genesis, the Hollies, LL Cool J and Jimmy Cliff also made the cut—but KISS has definitely waited the longest for the nomination.

The issue surrounding KISS’ nomination, according to Rolling Stone, is which of the group members would be inducted.
Gene Simmons comments, "There's been a lot of people who've been a part of this, some longer than others…So if we should ever be asked to accept induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it would be something to think about."

Which bandmates do you feel deserve the Hall of Fame? Of course, this is all hearsay until KISS gets the votes to secure their spot. 5 of the 12 nominees will be voted into the Hall of Fame based on 500+ votes from music industry persons. The other acts that make up the rest of the 12 finalists are veterans to the nominee list including ABBA, the Chantels, Darlene Love, Laura Nyro, the Stooges and Donna Summer.

The announcement of the inductees will occur in January, followed by the Hall of Fame’s 25th Annual Induction Ceremony on March 15 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.
