Jack White, Everywhere All the Time

Photobucket

Is Jack White some kind of non-sleep-requiring super hero? Or maybe he's paid a team of scientists to clone him? No one can be sure, but what is certain is that White is everywhere. All the time. He's recently been in the studio recording with Keith Richards and just started a new band, The Dead Weather, earlier in 2009.

Now White can add another accomplishment to his list — he was just nominated for a CMA award. To be more exact, he was nominated for the Country Music Award's "Music Event of the Year." Music event of the year? Sounds epic.

The CMA nod is the result of a collaboration between one of White's three bands, The Raconteurs, and country musicians Billy Skaggs and Ashley Monroe. They all teamed up for the track "Old Enough," which was released last December.

Maybe living in Nashville has changed JW's earlier garage-rock sensibilities. "Old Enough" is a blue-grassy country toe-tapper, not exactly what fans might expect. Then again, it's difficult to ever know what to expect from Jack White. It is a little strange to see the pale, long-black-haired Raconteurs crooning alongside the blonde country beauty Ashley Monroe, but the song works. You can watch the video and decide for yourself.

The CMA awards will air on CBS November 11th at 8 p.m.
