Lil Wayne Fishes For Excuses

Red City Entertainment has sued Dwayne Carter, aka “Lil Wayne,” for an estimated 432,000 dollars because he did not show at a performance in the Bahamas on September 27, 2008. Red City told the press they paid Wayne 210,000 dollars in advance and the amount they are suing him for covers the balance for his hotel expenses and other costs involved in the failed concert. The night of the concert Lil Wayne was discovered unconscious at his hotel.

The New York Daily News reported: "This was targeted as a showcase for Lil' Wayne," said Glenn Gitomer, a lawyer for the New Jersey promotions company. "Then police found him intoxicated in his hotel room...It was a great expense just to accommodate him."

According to All Hop Hop, Wayne’s manager stated, "Our show was set for September 26th last year. "We arrived on time, ready to perform and learned that due to lack of payment from the promoters, the sound company they had hired packed up and left the venue before Wayne was scheduled to hit the stage. So they were forced to cancel the show. On those grounds, at that moment, they were in breach of contract and forfeited their deposit."

Wayne agreed to re-schedule the event for the next day, his birthday. However, Wayne agreed to this only if all of the arrangements were up to a certain standard. Bryant, the rapper's manager, said that when he went to inspect the venue, Wayne wasn’t coming because Red City “didn’t have their setup to a contracted standard for the second time in a row.”

It sounds to me like Lil Wayne partied a little too hard on his birthday and tried to pull off some lame excuse to cover up his actions. Man up!
