Clap Your Hands Say: No!

Photobucket

It’s rare to find a musician whom is against crowd participation and excitement, but then again, Liam Gallagher of Oasis has earned the reputation of being a wild card.

At a July 7 show, Liam and Noel Gallagher performed in front of 50,000 screaming fans at UK’s Coventry Ricoh Stadium and during the middle of the set, Liam began shouting at fans.

Noel explained the incident to BBC Newsbeat, saying, “In the middle of 'The Shock Of The Lightning', 50,000 people have got their hands in the air and he starts shouting at them to stop clapping.”

He went on to express his distaste of his brother’s actions:

"I was thinking, 'That's nice – you pay £70 quid [equal to about 113 US dollars] for a ticket to be told what to do by the singer. 'You! Stop enjoying yourself - no clapping in between these songs'."

The Manchester boys will be playing three shows at London Wembley Stadium on July 9, 11 and 12. Whether fans will risk raising their arms and clapping during these shows is yet-to-be-determined.
