While we’re all reading Kanye’s apology and trying to forgive his lastest blunder, I want to focus briefly on what I considered the highlight of the VMA evening.
Lady Gaga. A bloody masterpiece, in my opinion. Gaga knows the power of a little thing called shock value, and uses it well. But, aside from the outrageous outfits and hermaphrodite rumors ( which I think we can safely say she debunked lastnight), the woman can perform. The stage, the dancers, the paino, the…blood. Her passion for music becomes almost tangible when she’s on stage.
Its been reported she’s gone bankrupt four times- the money she earns pouring back into her spectacular shows. She lives to perform. While she might not be considered a musician or highly repected among some circles, she’s a talented entertainer and she be regarded as such.

I will agree that she knows how to get attention and it is a shame that everything else was overshadowed by Kanye. I will say that she has gotten better, as I saw her open for NKOTB in October and she was horrible, not to mention everyone was walking out due to her crude-like stage presence. I'm not a fan of her music, but she knows how to get noticed.
