Kanye Cuts in on Taylor Swift's VMA Speech

Kanye’s ego does it again. After winning the award for Best Female Video at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift was abruptly (and should I say rudely?) interrupted by rapper Kanye West.

West ran up on to the stage and stole the mic from the glowing country starlet mid-acceptance speech and said, “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you and I’m gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”

After a quick shrug of the shoulders, West gave back the microphone and descended the steps of the stage.

The crowd erupted immediately after the outburst, with supportive chants for this year’s Best Female Video winner. While, MTV cut back and forth to shots of Beyonce’s reaction to the incident. Needless to say, she looked shocked.

I always view these supposed award show controversies with caution, much like the Eminem and Sacha Baron Cohen drama, because networks love celebrity feuds and gossip.

Was this staged? I’m not sure. But after viewing the video, it looked pretty legit to me.

Poor Taylor.
