Where the Wild Things Are Soundtrack Set To Release

Photobucket

It's finally here. Almost. The long awaited soundtrack to Spike Jonze's film Where the Wild Things Are is set to release on September 29. The soundtrack is the creation of Yeah Yeah Yeahs front woman Karen O.

The album has generated lots of buzz because of its long list of contributors. In making the album, O enlisted help from her fellow YYY members, as well as members of the Raconteurs, the Dead Weather and Deerhunter, to name a few. O also used the voices of a children's choir -- a good way to tie the soundtrack into the movie's theme. The soundtrack is aptly credited to "Karen O and the Kids."

Although the album doesn't drop until late next month, those anxiously awaiting a listen can hear the first single, "All is Love," soon enough. The track will be available online August 25.

The film adaptation of Mauric Sendak's beloved Wild Things will be in theaters October 16.
