R.E.M.'s New Live Album

Photobucket

R.E.M. fans, rejoice. Athens’ golden group just announced the release of their new live album, R.E.M. Live at the Olmypia. The album, out on October 26, features not one, but two (!) discs full of songs recorded at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin over a series of five nights in 2007.

The record’s 39 tracks include songs from the band’s earlier years, “many of them rarely if ever played,” according to their official web site. Also included are many songs from 2008’s Accelerate and a couple of bonus tracks not included on any other R.E.M. albums.

If two discs just isn’t enough, there’s also a special edition of Live at the Olympia that includes a DVD with footage of Michael Stipe & Co.’s five night musical bender in Dublin.
