Update: Thom Yorke Confirmed for New Moon OST
As previously reported, Thom Yorke was in talks to contribute to the upcoming New Moon Soundtrack. The rumors have now been confirmed by the director of the uber-popular Twilight sequel.
Yorke wrote a song specifically for the new album, and though director Chris Weitz has yet to hear the song, he pretty much guarantees it will be featured on the album.
“I selfishly want to put songs in by artists I love. And some the cast and crew also happen to love,” he said. "Unless it's sounds of him [Yorke] belching, I think I'll put it in."
Another artist expected to contribute to the soundtrack is singer-songwriter Bon Iver.
"He says he wrote it for the film, but who ever knows if it might just be something laying around in his cupboard,” Weitz said.
Weitz is still holding out for a track from the Kings of Leon.
The song “Closer” from KOL’s newest album Only By the Night is about a lovesick vampire . . . could that be the track he is hoping for? Stay tuned . . .
