The 2009 MTV Movie Awards Show is rapidly approaching, being held on Sunday, May 31 and will be hosted by comedian Andy Samberg. The network has announced only two official performers for the night that include, Kings of Leon and Eminem. Executive Producer of the show, Mark Burnett, has promised that the event will be “unpredictable” and has high hopes for the new addition to the night’s line up, sneak previews of upcoming summer movies like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the most anticipated film of the year, Twilight’s sequel, New Moon.
Like the annual MTV Music Awards in the late summer, the movie awards have been known to attract all sorts of outlandish celebrities and musicians who come together to make a colorful night in tinsel town. You can expect no less from this year’s show and with SNL’s Andy Samberg heading the festivities, The Lonely Island creator has been known to keep the laughter flowing and will hopefully out shine last year’s host, Mike Myers. Fans can vote for each category (Including the always famous ‘Best Kiss’ category) of this year’s MTV Movie Award’s and learn more about the event by logging on to http://www.mtv.com/ontv/movieawards/2009/. The Kings of Leon always dazzle and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for May 31! I don’t usually enjoy MTV’s programming but for this instance I do love my MTV!
