After Blink-182’s first performance in four years the other night along with the suspense of their first “official” performance on the horizon with Jay Leno tomorrow night, those of us feeling a swell of teen angst can start rocking it all out again. They have announced their tour dates, hitting 48 cities starting July 24 and ending October 3 (they make their way to Atlanta on September 29 at the Lakewood Amphitheater). That’s toward the end of their tour, so, according to Blink-182, Fall Out Boy should be replaced with Weezer by then. So for all you Fall Out Boy fans out there who may be bummed by the switch, I found something that may tie you over (at least for the next five minutes or so). Rolling Stone recently had Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump come in their studio and perform a very cool trio of songs. These are pretty awesome and definitely worth the few minutes of your time to watch. Whatever you do, do not miss his acoustic version of Prince’s “I wanna be your lover.” It’s a little strange watching him hit those falsettos (I’ll admit I closed my eyes a few times because I got uncomfortable) but it’s kick-ass nonetheless.
