The free song is both the opening and the title track from the band’s second full-length album and is available for download at Vampire Weekend’s official site, Vampireweekend.com.
“Horchata”, another track from the new album, has already been released for free on the band’s site as well.
Contra has its own website, Ithinkuracontra.com, and the free download was the result of the site’s mysterious countdown clock that was ticking, but leaving fans wondering what would happen when the clock struck zero.
Along with the free downloads, other details about Vampire Weekend’s follow-up have been slowly released; First unveiling the new album’s cover art and then the full track-list.
The “Upper West Side Soweto”-inspired boys have laid out the bait, but you’ll have to wait until January to see if the material is worth the bite.
