Nuçi's Space 9th anniversary party & 5K race

Photobucket

The ninth anniversary of Athens musicians' haven Nuçi's Space is upon us. To celebrate, Nuçi's will host a party tomorrow, October 23, with performances from Roy Coughlin and the Latin band One L. And like any other good birthday bash, they will have food, drinks and cake.

The Nuçi's people will also host an auction of  memorabilia donated by local bands such as Of Montreal, R.E.M., Drive By Truckers and more. The party will be from 5:30-10 p.m. at Nuçi's Space (396 Oconee St.).

After a night of birthday partying, you can start your Saturday morning off right with a little 5K run. On Oct. 24 Nuçi's will host its S.P.A.C.E. (Suicide Prevention and Community Education) Race.  Runners are asked to make a donation in order to raise money for Nuçi's goal of offering assistance to musicians and others struggling with psychological problems.

The race starts on UGA campus and continues through Athens and gets started at 9 a.m. You can register for the race here, or just show up Saturday morning before it starts.
