Steven Tyler Injured at South Dakota Show

Photobucket

The Aerosmith summer tour has taken an unfortunate detour after frontman Steven Tyler was flown to the hospital yesterday (August 5) when he fell off the stage during a show.

The band was playing a gig in South Dakota at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally when the sound went out during a performance of “Love in an Elevator.” To entertain the fans, Tyler began to dance on the catwalk, and slipped off the stage and fell on a couple fans, hurting both his neck and shoulder.

The associated press reported that Tyler was airlifted to Rapid City Regional Hospital and was treated accordingly.

After the incident, guitarist Joe Perry explained to fans that the show was over.

Tyler’s daughter Mia later thanked fans for their support on her Twitter page saying, "Just got the news that my dad is okay. Thank you all for your wonderful prayers and positive energy!"

Aerosmith still have about 20 more dates scheduled for their Guitar Hero tour. No news has yet surfaced on whether they will be rescheduling any of these dates. Their next stop is slated for Friday, August 7 at Canad Inns Stadium in Winnipeg, MB, Canada.

On another note---I know Steven Tyler falling and getting hurt is not funny, but while I was reading this news online I looked at an advertisement on the right of the screen that was selling Fall Alarms for Seniors. I mean Tyler is 61, I suppose he could use one of those. Ha. Ha. . . .
