DJ A.M. Dead at 36
Breaking news about DJ A.M., born Adam Goldstein, has been flooding the Internet. Reports say A.M. was found in his apartment and pronounced dead on the scene by medical staff. Updates by law officials state that drug paraphernalia—often associated with crack cocaine—was found near him in his apartment.
As far as I was aware, A.M. had been a recovering drug addict and had enlisted in drug prevention programs to help others stay sober. According to Perez Hilton, A.M. had been depressed lately and unfortunately, it seems, he turned to drugs to cope.
I think John Mayer says it best in a recent tweet that I can only assume is about the tragic death of DJ A.M.: “We're supposed to lose our friends to time, at an age when we're ready to agree to the terms of having lived a long life. Not now.”
My thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved him. His talent and presence will be greatly missed.
